PTE stands for Pearson Test of English
It is a computer-based academic English language test.
The test consists of sections of listening, reading, speaking, and writing skills.
It is for one who are non-native speakers of English language and wish to study at universities with-English as the official language.
Structure of PTE
- Speaking and writing-(77-93 minutes)
- Reading -(32- 41 minutes)
- Listening –(45-57 minutes)
Key points
- Test duration is 3 hours
- Students need to use Computer and a headset will help them to listen, read and respond to questions easily .
- There are maximum twenty different question formats, ranging from multiple choices to essay writing and interpreting information
- Once test is started the range of accents in the test, are from British and American to non-native speakers
